Custom Portrait Work
Portrait After, originally uploaded by Eric Takes Pictures.
In my home, I have a wall that is full of portraits that I have done over the years. This guy, my sister’s nephew, came to my house and announced that he wanted to get on the wall. So, I took out my camera and produced a series of portraits. The challenge for this portrait was present his eyes in a way that made them stand out.
While I did not change or enhance his eye color, I did change the surrounding colors to bring out the color of his eyes. When I shoot portraits, my goal is the present the subject in a way that makes them look their best. Sometimes that means the selective enhancement of colors or at other times, it means creative cropping. At least half of my time on a portrait is spent in post processing and photo enhancement.
You can see an untouched picture of this person here.
